History:
News Release March 25-2009: Apex Silver Mines Limited was renamed to Golden Minerals Company and was the successor to all of Apex Silver Mines' assets after emerging from "Chapter 11" proceedings.

Cotton and Western Mining Incorporated was founded in 2005 as a Nevada Corporation by Robert L. Cotton.

Cotton and Western aims to identify viable iron deposits and use low-tech methods to exploit iron deposits that meet certain specific criteria.

• Iron Mineral Deposits must contain a minimum of 10,000,000 metric tons of ore.
• The Iron Deposit should be located within 100 kilometers (62.5 miles) from a commercial port to keep transportation costs below $4 per metric ton.
• The Iron Deposit should have a grade of no less than 60% Fe content.
• The Iron Mineral Deposits should be low in the basic trace elements of Sulfur, Silica, Phosphorus and little or no Vanadium or Titanium.

Cotton and Western uses remote controlled mobile tracked crushing and screening equipment which is backed up to the bench where exploitation is to take place. Crushing, screening and magnetic separation is integrated into the mobile equipment. Once processed, the materials are loaded and taken to the port for stockpiling aand the next cargo vessel.
